Recently, I’ve been on a learn / grow / pursue binge. After graduating from Kent State University with a major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, I’ve indulged in trying to expand my knowledge in different areas. Reading and teaching myself things about leadership, personal development, financial independence, and entrepreneurial journeys have been something that I have been working on for quite a while. Learning from these entrepreneurial books have taught be a great deal of information and I can now apply these same principles to my business and personal lifestyle.
Even though there is still a long way to go, the results have been incredible. The single thing that has motivated me this year is learning from some of the greatest entrepreneurs and leaders. Here is a list of the books that I would recommend to aspiring entrepreneurs, leaders, and young students:
- Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh
- Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
- How to Win at the Sport of Business: If I Can Do It, You Can Do It by Mark Cuban
- The Brand Within by Daymond John
- Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance
The entrepreneurial journey behind Tony Hsieh, Elon Musk, Mark Cuban, and Daymond John has been a true lesson that everyone can learn from. Most importantly, it’s not the success that you learn from. It’s the failures and obstacles that each of these entrepreneurs once had to face to get to where they are today. Your brand is your personal reputation. Throughout the process, you might learn how to become a better leader like Elon Musk had to do. Additionally, you might learn that your employees and customers are your heart and soul to your business. The work environment for Tony Hsieh’s employees has been rated nearly the best in the U.S.
Robert Kiyosaki teaches the lesson of being financially stable and truly learning the value of your money. Make your money work for you, do not work for your money. Last but not least, Mark Cuban. The true definition of a hustler. Go get these books!
